The Italic A

Perched along a steep, forested ridge in West Marin, the Italic A House responds to a site defined less by direct sunlight than by reflected light, distant views, and dramatic changes in topography.

Organized in section rather than plan, the house layers living, working, and sleeping spaces beneath a distinctive roof that gathers daylight from the valley beyond while sheltering the home within the surrounding forest.

The result is a home that feels simultaneously protected and expansive—quietly connected to the landscape while continuously aware of light, season, and time.
